"What does it mean when the channels are not defined?"

A channel in the chart is a line or branch of energy that is shown on the chart as running between one center (shape) shown on the chart to another center (shape) on the chart, as shown in Carla Bruni's Human Design Chart above.

When a channel is "defined" in the chart the entire channel will have color showing in it, whether that color is black, pink or candy-cane striped.

This means the energy of this channel is fully activated in Carla Bruni's life and she has access to it on a regular and consistent basis throughout her entire life.

If the channel is colored in white or "undefined", i.e., contains no color, this person is able to "play" with, learn and gain wisdom from the energy of this channel and then reflect the wisdom they have gained back to those they come in contact with.  This also applies for any other white areas showing in a person's chart, as well.

The undefined spaces in a chart are also spaces to be aware that this is the easiest portion of ourselves that can be conditioned by others in our lives.

This means that we could have a tendency to agree with or take on the beliefs of those around us, instead of listening to and following our own internal clarity and trusting that part of ourselves to make wise choices and move forward in our lives.

As children, unless we have very diligently aware parents, and even at that, we receive conditioning to varying kinds and degrees.  It's just part of living on this planet, and that's okay!  :o)

So....there's nothing wrong with you and you don't need to be fixed and you're not broken!
